Approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), D. Pharma programs follow regulatory guidelines, and graduates must register with the State Pharmacy Council to practice in India. The D. The initial semester introduces students to the foundational aspects of pharmaceutical sciences. Courses include Basic Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, and Pharmaceutical Technology. Additionally, communication skills are emphasised to enhance students’ ability to convey information effectively and professionally.
Building on the basics, the second semester delves deeper into Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Pharmacognosy. Students also engage in Biochemistry and Computer Applications in Pharmacy to comprehensively understand pharmacy’s scientific and technical aspects.
In the third semester, the curriculum advances to more specialised topics, including Pharmaceutical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence, Pharmacokinetics, and Herbal Pharmacy. Practical laboratory sessions are integral, providing hands-on experience essential for pharmaceutical practice.
The final semester focuses on applied pharmacy subjects such as Clinical Pharmacy, Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, and Cosmetic Pharmacy. Students also participate in Pharmacy Practice to gain real-world experience and apply their knowledge in practical settings.
